Amelie discovered the joys of a newly mopped floor today. She does a remarkable Bambi-on-ice impersonation.

I told Lia to carry the Cool Whip to the kitchen “without putting your fingers in it”. She obeyed dutifully…and put her tongue in it instead.

Amelie continues to live up to the meaning of her name, “industrious”. She industriously empties cupboards, bookshelves, and drawers at an increasing rate. She has reached the point where she can pull things out faster than I can put them back. Gazing upon the wreckage this evening, that verse from 1 Thessalonians popped into my mind–

“While people are saying ‘peace and safety’, DESTRUCTION WILL COME ON THEM SUDDENLY,…and they will not escape.”

“If your house is really a mess and a stranger comes to the door, greet him with, ‘Who could have done this? We have no enemies!’”

–Phyllis Diller
