Being Green, Challenge 1

As cheesy and groupie-ish as it seems to say it, I am starting my first official blog series. But it’s for a good cause, okay? Being Green is a cause/issue/lifestyle that is very near and dear to my heart. It also happens to be very near and dear to the future of the planet. So, if it’s no skin off your nose, here is the beginning of a list of gloriously green habits. Try them out, if you’re so inclined.

Goal #1 To reduce the amount of garbage in your garbage can by 1/3 and thus reduce your contribution to the local landfill.

Challenge #1

Be a more faithful recycler. Particularly in the matter of food storage containers. In other words, take an extra minute to rinse out the applesauce jar and put it in the recycling bin.

Toss it in with an uplifted countenance, with joyful exuberance, with a sense of inner satisfaction. Hum to yourself, “We are the world, we are the children…” Give yourself a pat on the back. That’s one less applesauce jar for the landfill and one more for making golf sand traps!

Let me know if you recycle a few extra containers…
