Storing Up Treasures

I would like to submit a paraphrase of Matthew 6:19-21 for the edification and purification of the saints… namely, parents.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures, even hidden in the dark recesses of secured cupboards, where inquisitive children destroy, and where innocent thieves break in and unwittingly steal.

But store up for yourselves a treasure trove of virtues (patience, understanding, gentleness), where inquisitive children will only improve, and where innocent thieves will ever increase your treasure.

For where your treasure is, there your children will congregate. And wreak havoc.
