The Quest for the Meaning of Housekeeping – 2

Alternate Title:  It is the Way it Is.  Embrace It.

So after the initial setbacks in the Quest, I searched a little more on the subject of endurance.  After all, endurance encompasses perseverance, doggedness, constancy, staying power, patience…and my personal favorite, intestinal fortitude.

Intestinal fortitude comes in right handy when cleaning out leftovers worthy of winning science fairs.  I totally intend to use leftovers as a science project when my kids get older.  For now we just gross out and double bag them, but I’m sure it will be a great educational endeavor in future years.

But I digress.

And then I found something.  A nugget of wisdom with the power to turn the conversation from a teeth-gritting, teeth-baring, tooth-chipping endurance into something…better.

Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory. ~William Barclay

Chew on that for awhile!
